A survey continues ...

Bitey - we'll be adding questions as we go. Thank you for your patience ;)

Everyone else, thank you for your votes, we will be keeping track of your responses :) Interesting split depending on location by the way ... hmmmm.

Meeting the in-laws (continued)

3. Your girlfriend's parents have asked you to attend an important family event (with no overnight stay*). Do you tell her:
a) you don't want to go because if they really wanted you to attend as a couple they would at least have offered a bed for the night
b) you don't want to go because you have a phobia about family gatherings and you're just not ready for that step yet
c) you'll go if your girlfriend wants to go, and you're quite happy to come back to your own bed
d) you already decided what to wear and marked the date in your calendar
e) you already decided what to wear, have googled-mapped all the necessary directions and who does your girlfriend think designed the invitations for your family?

*Hypothetically, assume that your girlfriend's parents live closer to the event than you do. Let's say, you have to drive about 20 miles to get home, while they might live local to the event or only have to drive a maximum of 5 miles.

How far away do the in-laws live?

I deliberately left that open for this question ... makes the answer more personal ;)

Am I a total loser for picking 'c'? I think it's all a set up!!!

Mind you I might answer I'll go so long as she comes home with me and I'll drive so she can drink!!!!

Just to be a pain in the arse you see!!!!

But since I haven't any in-laws, how can I know the answer? I need to know the hypothetical distance, first...

The Europeans are tending towards the (c) answers in general so far, so nope, not a total loser (((Kaz))).

Frammie, the original post has been edited now - more helpful?

I'm going with C. Although my in-laws live on the other side of the country, so does that mean I just get to stay home? No? Damn!
